Acupressure
In 2020, I earned a diploma in acupressure from Fusion Acupressure: Body Mind Spirit Integration. There, I learned a unique blend of acupressure, the meridian system, and energy healing techniques, cumulating in a style in which pressure points are activated with the deliberate intention to move energy, clear blocks, and support healing.
Counselling
I graduated with a diploma in Transpersonal Counselling from Clearmind International in 2019. I have since added to my knowledge by taking an array of spiritual and non-spiritual workshops and courses, including but not limited to:
- Lifestyle Wellness Coaching
- Women's Wisdom
- Activated Woman
- Peter Levine's:
- Trauma and Memory
- Master Trauma Class
- How to Work with the Patterns that Sustain Depression
- Working with the Pain of Abandonment
- Trauma in Relationships
I believe that effective counselling involves the use of many different skills and techniques. Most notably, my style is inspired by somatic therapy, which works with the nervous system and is especially helpful in releasing energy and trauma from past experiences.
I also believe it is important for my clients to apply techniques learned in our sessions to their everyday lives. While this can be difficult, it is also exceptionally rewarding and a necessary step in changing our patterns and thus our lives.
Personal Growth Mentorship
Over my years of counselling, I have seen many clients struggle to implement change into their lives because let's face it: change is hard! Even for the small things, we sometimes require external help, whether in determining which path is best for us, developing and maintaining new boundaries and habits, or figuring out which adjustments to our lives we should prioritize. Other times, we just need someone cheering us on and telling us we can do it.
A personal growth mentor does just that: support people in transforming their lives and finding fulfillment through active effort and choice.
Personal growth mentorship is not the same as counselling. While counselling focuses on working towards healing our minds and emotions, personal growth mentorship centres on developing a sense of self-empowerment and learning to make decisions so we can live our best lives. Where counselling is working towards a happy and settled mind, personal growth mentorship focuses on enjoyment and fulfillment of life itself on a more macro scale.
This will look vastly different for everyone. One person may require a push into taking that first step into a fitness routine, another may need help figuring out which job offer is going to give them the most satisfaction, and another may not even know what they need, only that their life is not what they want it to be.
What a personal growth mentor offers is another perspective, as well as reflections of their own experiences and knowledge. They are someone who will listen, offering support for your decisions and giving you the push you need to move forward in your life, through both internal and external fears and judgments.
Your life can be what you want it to be, and while there may be obstacles—big, small and seemingly insurmountable—in your path, there is always a way to find more happiness. As a personal growth mentor, I can help you find those paths and bring you closer to the contentment and fulfillment we all deserve.
Touch Therapy Massage
Everyone needs physical touch. It is a basic human need with many benefits, but sometimes, getting the touch we need to feel fulfilled can be difficult.
Touch is more than just a way of connecting with another person. Studies have shown that it affects our hormones and nervous system, decreasing cortisol—the stress hormone—and increasing serotonin and dopamine levels—often called the mood and pleasure hormones, respectively—as well as oxytocin—the so-called love hormone. All this adds up, with physical touch acting to reduce our stress, aid our sleep and pain management, as well as boost both our immune system and overall mood.
Unfortunately, many of us are touch starved, and our bodies know it. Where touch can make us healthier, a lack of touch can just as easily increase our feelings of depression and stress, and lead to both overall health problems and an avoidance of physical touch—yes, our brains can be very silly, urging us to avoid something that will make us feel better!
Physical touch is so important, and touch therapy massage is a way to receive the touch you need in a safe and accepting place. At its core, touch therapy massage is exactly what it sounds like: a massage that focuses on healing through touch. It is a combination of many techniques, designed to gently settle your nervous system, helping to ease anxiety and stress, offering love and care through touch and massage.
White Tantra Massage
White Tantra is both a type of massage and a spiritual practice with many potential benefits. Contrary to popular belief, White Tantra Massage is intended to be both pleasant and therapeutic to those who receive it, helping to expand one's energy and positive vibrations.
I have taken several courses and workshops in Tantra Massage, including the following:
- Foundations of Tantric Intimacy
- Tantra Massage Workshop
White Tantra Massage requires a level of maturity. I require a short chat before booking a session to ensure our intentions are aligned.
